Course Description:
This course is an introduction to the study of the meaning. Its aim is to introduce some basic approaches to the study of meaning in Linguistics and related fields. The primary focus will be on the word meaning (lexical semantics), although sentential semantics and pragmatics will be discussed in brief. The general theme running through the course is how best to describe meaning in human language.
