Aims of Course:

The main objective of the course is to acquire the basic concepts and necessary skills in mathematics needed in different disciplines such as engineering and computer science.

Learning Experiences:

The course is offered in 40 hours of lectures with case studies, individual exercises, project work, class discussion, critical analysis, problem solving, and individual private study.

Course Learning Outcomes:

 Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able: 

  • Introduce the basic concepts of modeling, approximation and round-off errors and error definition
  • Understand different methods for finding roots of equations, Methods for polynomials.
  • Illustrate the importance of regression and interpolation and their applications in science and engineering
  • Understand numerical differentiation and integration to solve complex problems
