Aims of Course:
The main objective of the course is to acquire the basic concepts and necessary skills in mathematics needed in different disciplines such as engineering and computer science.
Learning Experiences:
The course is offered in 40 hours of lectures with case studies, individual exercises, project work, class discussion, critical analysis, problem solving, and individual private study.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Introduce the students to the field of matrices and it applications in solving systems of linear equations
- Understand Vectors in the plane and in 3-space Subspaces, bases and dimensions. Inner product spaces and Gram-Shmidt process are discussed.
- Illustrate the importance of determinants and their properties and their applications in solving systems of linear equations (Cramer’s rule).
- Explain eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices and their role in diagonalization of matrices.
- Introduce linear transformations and their applications in computer graphics.
