This course deals with the second language development from a linguistic and psychological point of view rather than from an educational one. The emphasis is on the influence of the linguistic theory on the second language. As a survey of language acquisition theories, the course will focus on human language processing, learners’ motivational and contextual factors which influence language learning. It will uncover the principles of language acquisition all in all.
