Aims of Course:

This course aims to help students learn, appreciate and employ calculus and to develop their mathematical skills by understanding mathematics applications. The course provides an introductory study of vector calculus and functions of several variables. Topics include directional derivatives, Jacobeans, change of variables in multiple integrals, maxima and minima, line and surface integrals, theorems of Gauss, Green, and Stoke, numerical series, and uniform convergence, Fourier series, Laplace transforms.

 

Learning Experiences:

The course is offered in 40 hours lecture with individual exercises, project works and problem solving.

 

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand vector calculus and functions of several variables
  • To be able to describe directional derivatives, change of variables in multiple integrals, maxima and minima, line and surface integrals.
  • To be able to solve double and triple integrals
