Course Description:
This course is designed to help students master writing the traditional five-paragraph essay. Emphasis is on the planning, development and revision of multi-paragraph compositions. Students will focus on particular problems with their writing and practice editing. Clear thinking is stressed throughout the course and various reading material (books, articles...) that deal with both contemporary and timeless concerns will be assigned throughout the course. The course also stimulates lively class discussions and individual thought, and serves as a rich source of material. Moreover, the course emphasizes the value of understanding the importance of using references in any literary text.
