Course Description:
The objective of this course is to help students answer the complex questions facing our contemporary societies in order not to remain indifferent to the great debates of our time, by tracing the progress of human culture from the birth of civilization through ancient civilizations, the future of democracy, and the value of divine religions. This course traces the progress of human culture from the birth of civilization through the Enlightenment Period. The literature used is drawn from the humanities, the fine arts, the social sciences and the natural sciences, and is organized thematically around key-topics.
